Obituary for Betty Larson Butcher's mother

Lucille Larson, 90

Lucille Louise Larson, 90, currently of West Chester, PA, formerly of Alexandria, died June 3, 2006.
She was born August 12, 1915 to Luther and Tillie (Adamson) Skog in Cannon Falls. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and educated in the Cannon Falls public schools. She was a 1937 graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College and a graduate of the Minneapolis School of Business.
She married J. Stanley Larson of Red Wing in 1940 and lived several years in Red Wing and White Bear Lake before moving to Alexandria in 1947. While their five children were growing up, she taught Sunday school and was a Girl Scout leader. She enjoyed taking a variety of courses offered by the Alexandria Community Education Department. Art and reading were her hobbies.
Lucille moved to Burnsville in 1999, to Sun City, Arizona in 2001, and to West Chester, Pennsylvania in 2005.
She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley, on December 17, 2003.
She is survived by her five children, Steven (Sandi) Larson of Burnsville, Susan (Warren) Wilson of Big Lake, Betty (Perry) Butcher of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Joan (Gary) Devansky of Downingtown, Pennsylvania, Barbara (Dr. Tom) Casey of Wickenburg, Arizona; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a brother, Earl, of Roseville, California.
A joint memorial service for Stan and Lucille will be held Saturday, July 8 at 10:30 a.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church, 600 Douglas Street, Alexandria. Burial will be at Kinkead Cemetery. A reception will be held at noon at Old Broadway Restaurant in Alexandria.
