Dave Serie in Slowpitch Big Time

Dave Serie's son, Chris, proudly reports that his father has been inducted into the United States Slowpitch Softball Association Hall of Fame.

Two of his sisters, Judy from San Jose, and Pat from Seattle, flew in for the Brooklyn Center ceremony. They joined his brother Pete and other family members and friends. The group took up two tables at the event, Chris reports, "A lot of support for the ol' man!"

Here's the writeup from the company newsletter:

Long-time BAE Systems employee Dave Serie was recently selected for induction into the United States Slowpitch Softball Association (USSSA) Hall of Fame. Dave played softball for 22 years, 15 of those with the FMC Industrial Team.
During that time, the team, which was a perennial state powerhouse, was coached by Darrell “Bozo” Wincek and was ranked first in the State in the Industrial AA Division for seven years. The team also won seven State Championships and played in nine National Tournaments, finishing as high as second in 1985. Dave was named to the All State Team three times and amassed nearly 500 home runs with a lifetime batting average of .600.
The induction will be on Saturday, January 26, at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Brooklyn
Center. There will also be an “all FMC” softball reunion that afternoon at the Crown Plaza Hotel. Congratulations, Dave!
