Fond memories of Alice Johnson
Classmate Karl Tegland writes:
I was sorry to learn of the death of Alice Johnson, our school nurse.
Alice and her husband, Lloyd "Army" Johnson, lived just down the road from us and were two of the nicest people I've ever met. I never heard either of them say a negative word about anybody.
Alice always welcomed the neighborhood kids into their house and often gave us her homemade fudge -- the best in the world. Army Johnson owned a laundry (located across the alley from the back of the Corner Bar) and did all the gym towels for the school system. I still remember seeing his green Rambler parked in the alley behind Central Junior High in the late afternoon, when he was picking up towels.
I have nothing but fond childhoold memories of both of them.
