Rock on, Karl
For many of us, our first taste of live Rock and Roll occurred in the Alexandria Junior High Auditorium, when the Silvertones electrified a packed house one night in the late 50s. Boys like Bruce Phelps, Willie Penny, Al Esterberg, Rick Beresford and others performed this new music we’d heard only on the radio, but our very own Rock and Roller was K.B. Tegland.
Parents said Rock 'n Roll was just a fad. But we knew we’d never outgrow it. It was here to stay.
Decades later, K.B. was in a band, still playing his guitar, now in the State of Washington. This little video features riffs from Karl and the Eagle Creek Band at a live performance near Seattle.
Thanks to Karl for the music, and classmates for the photos. Hope you like the flick. And be sure to crank the volume.
