From Carolyn and Harland

Carolyn forwards this email from her daughter, Sara:

Subj: My sister....
Last night my family (my parents and sister’s in law in one vehicle, and my sister and her new husband and her 9 and 12 year old kids in another vehicle) were headed to northern New Mexico to spend Mother’s Day weekend at a cabin in the mountains.
About 2 hours north of ABQ my sister (she was driving) decided to get off the freeway to get something to eat at McDonald’s, and in the process had a seizure and totaled her vehicle. Her husband and the kids were okay, but my sister is 5 months pregnant. Baby appears to be okay. My sister did not know who she was and what day it was (yesterday was her 36th birthday).
She is in a hospital 2 hours from home, and so far they aren't finding any reason as to why she had this seizure. My 12 year old nephew had to make the 911 call! God Bless him. Thank God they were not on the freeway going the speed she was (just a mere 60 seconds earlier), or 20 miles further up the way they would have been on a windy mountain road.
God was definitely watching over them in that respect, as it would have been deadly. My sister has never experienced anything like this before. She had had a rough week, just not feeling good, but doc said everything had looked okay. First and foremost my sister and her unborn child need your prayers. The days to come will be filled with doctors and decisions. I was able to get a flight out first thing tomorrow morning thanks to my cousins who work for the airlines. J I will stay with the kids, and help in any way that I can right now.
Obviously this will be my second week away in the previous month, as I was just there for her (Sara’s) wedding, but my husband is a SAINT, and says to do what I need to do! God Bless him! He is amazing! J Thanks for the thoughts and prayers.
Melissa

Subj: My sister....Our daughter
This is our daughter, Sara, Missy is talking about.....it was a terrible night and experience. God was with us in so many ways. We also ask your prayers as now we encounter this urgent health issue with Sara.We are so blessed that Larry(nephew) and Geri (wife) once again came through for our family and made it possible for Missy to come to help take care of Sara. Alix and Nolan want their "Annie" (Aunty)to come to their house.
Sara has to be under adult supervision until she sees a neurologist. Sara's nurse at the little hospital in Espanola where she was, her name was "Jaycee", her nurse that transported her to OB ward for observation was "Melissa". And, once she got to OB, she had two older "traveling" nurses, one from South Dakota, and one from North Dakota.
We found lots of comfort in all these coincidences. Nolan is so proud he called 911 and saved his mother's life.....JC said he did a wonderful job. And, Alix stood by her Mother's side the whole time at the hospital(except for when they took x-rays). I was so proud she stayed strong for her Mom. Tomorrow Mother's Day will have a different meaning for all of us. Thank you for your continued supportand comfort.
Our pastors have called us today and sent their prayers and love, which is so much appreciated. Tomorrow there will be a "special" prayer in our church for Sara. I am glad the good Lord still gives us strength to move on, he surely knows we need it.
Love, Carolyn & Harland
