No luck for Watson at Hazeltine

Bob Watson, left foreground, failed to engage Tiger Woods as the Class of 1965 Reunion Guest Speaker

Chairman's pitch was a bust
It was camera day at the PGA practice round in Chaska today and Alexandria's Tom Lehman was nowhere to be found.
But, right over there, was Tiger Woods.

Hey Tiger! Bobby Watson wants a moment of your time!

Tiger looked up, a bit stunned. Tiger doesn't know Bobby Watson. Tiger's practice partner today was his pal, left-hander Bubba Watson. And he does know a Tom Watson, of course. But who the hell is Bobby Watson? Certainly Bobby's not Tom's brother, is he? He is about the right age.

Oh, probably not. Tiger went back to his work.
Ordinarily on Monday Bobby would be golfing the front nine over at Arrowwood. But today Watson was busy at Hazeltine National trying to line up a guest speaker for next year's JHS Class Reunion, August 21, 2010. Bobby's the chairman, don't you know.

He's got nothing yet, but there's still plenty of time. Watson is serious about organizing a first class operation for a first class... class.

Tiger took a few more putts on 17, that's the Par 3 just before the famous No. 18 where, in 2002, he made one of the greatest bunker recovery shots of all time.

Watson hollered again, still no dice. He could just as well have been an idiot yelling "Get in the hole!"

Oh well, there's always Lehman.
---------(Above) Betty Butcher got real close and personal to The Chairman in his Go Go Golf Cart. Butcher hopes to line up a gig for next year as half of the "Darling Duo." Watson won't commit.
