Phone call to the chairman

Stan: Hi Bob, this is Stan. I just got off the phone with Karla at Broadway Ballroom. She says everything is a go for the Reunion on August 21. We're having a buffet of Beef Tenderloin Tips and Grilled Chicken Breast. They're holding to last year's prices. The committee thinks we can do it for $20 a piece. That includes taxes and gratuity. It's a cash bar. How does that sound?
Bob: Sounds good. We don't want people to not show up because it's too expensive. When do the doors open?
Stan: Well, we're a bit older now, aren't we? Don't we like to get things going earlier?
Bob: Yeah, I guess. But we don't want to come in off the lake too soon either.
Stan: How does 4 p.m. start time with a 5 p.m. Open Bar and Dinner at 6 sound?
Bob: Can you open the bar a little sooner? And when does it close?
Stan: Not sure about closing. Also, we have to get a headcount to Karla by August 11. I have no idea how many will show for this. We have to get people to start checking in.
Bob: Right. So who's collecting the money?
Stan: Well, that would be Karen Benson. She said she'd collect the money like she did last time. Attendees will send checks to her Wisconsin address. She won't be sending back tickets or confirmation or anything. Your check is your receipt. We'll just keep a list of who paid so far, and report it from time to time on the blog.
Bob: Sounds goods. Now we've got to encourage people to come. I have some plans in the works for that.
Stan: Just let me know if I can help. In the meantime, I'll send a notice to the EchoPress.
Bob: Great, talk to you later.
