Karl Tegland's lottery
Gambling was illegal at JHS in the 60s, but somehow Karl Tegland was able to run this operation right under the nose of the authorities. See if you can find your name. Ken Dyrstad won it. What's interesting about the game is that there are 100 squares, so Tegland collected $5 --- but only paid out $2.50. Now that's a vig. So now we know how he bought gas for his car. Click to enlarge and read the names. You may be one of them.
Ramona Sly writes: I am amazed that someone still has this around. I found my name -- first and last squares -- but not a winner!!
Stan says: An early lesson learned, Ramona. I don't recall ever seeing you at Mystic Lake.
Ramona: Yes, that early 10 cent lesson must have stayed with me - gambling is not one of my vices.
