60s Graphic Arts

Before there were computers, there was phototypsetting. Before that, there was letterpress typesetting at Lakeland Printing in Alexandria. Very expensive. So we did the best we could with what was at hand.
Above is the actual cover to the mimeographed program for the Student Council Banquet in 1965. You gotta love the extra effort for the scroll effect.
Special events, like a high school graduation, called for special high-end typesetting and job work at a print shop. Here's the official program for the Class of 1965. Click to enlarge and find your name, just to be sure you graduated.
