Big Homecoming Parade Friday

Always wanting the blog up to date, the Cub Reporter thoughtfully sent a copy of an email going around written by Jill, the Homecoming Parade honcho. Reading it over, it reminded the trailboss that our Class won First Place for the Best Homecoming Float in 1962, 1963 and 1964. So there.

Enjoy the parade.

Good afternoon,
I just wanted to send an email out to those of you that have confirmed your participation as alumni in the Homecoming Community Parade tomorrow. What a fabulous response we have received, 60 people have confirmed their participation ranging from the Class of 1936 to the Class of 2006 and we're still fielding email and phone calls from others who have heard through the grapevine & want to join in!

A few parade details to be aware of:
Please arrive at St. Mary's by 3:00PM tomorrow. Bill Erickson, driver of the alumni float, is planning on being there @2:45PM so you are welcome to arrive earlier if you like. Our float is white w/haybales and will have alumni banners w/a cardinal head on both sides so you should be able to spot us.

There are approximately 28 floats in the parade. The parade begins at 3:30PM and is expected to take approximately 45 minutes. The parade route starts at the St. Mary's parking lot; 5th Ave. to Broadway to 12th St., ending at JHS with a rally at the far end of the parking lot (close to the football entrance). Following the parade, we have made arrangements for a School Bus (Bus #41) to be available to transport people back to their vehicles parked at St. Mary's.

Watch the weather...layer up if need be...keep your fingers crossed for NO RAIN! I'll have the alumni t-shirts with me when we meet up and I will distribute them at that time.

We have red & black pencils inscribed with "Rich Tradition, Bright Future" that can be passed out to children along the parade route.

See you tomorrow afternoon! :)

Jill
