Kathy Sherry Skadsberg wins Golf Queenship

Grandma with her biggest fan. (Note crown on G'ma's head. The grandson was happy for grandma, but happier still that he found five golf balls while trailing along the course.)
Kathy Sherry Skadsberg won Sunday's Queen of the Valley tourney at her Golden Valley Country Club. This is the first time in 13 years she qualified for the tournament... and then she goes and wins it all!
She qualifed by carding an 89 earlier this season.
The club takes the top 20 net scores of the season and divides them into two flights. It is match play, and one golfer is eliminated at each hole.
"I hung in there and won my flight,"Kathy said, "then played the 10th even up with the winner of the A flight. We tied, and I won the chip off. Shocking!"
Congratulations to the new queen, our former homecoming queen. Sharp-eyed classmates have emailed the trailboss to note that Kathy donned Cardinal red and black for the occasion.
The ever-modest Skadsberg worries that there's too much Skadsberg on the blog and scolds the Cub Reporter for turning her in:
"Thanks for the promo" she writes, "but I believe the class readers think I am on the blog a little too often. Where is everyone else....Hmmmm? How is Bev Roers spending her $25,000? Why doesn't Sandi Penner do a monthly column...she is a great writer? Where are photos of everyone grandkids ......
There must be alot of closet blog readers out there. How do you get them to send things IN!
Well said, Queen of the Valley, now how about it blog readers? Get some stuff in. You don't have to wait until you win a golf tournament.. Trailboss
