Harland Hoffland harvests huge chili crop

Harland Hoffland relaxed for a moment with his hired hand after a hard day working this year's chili crop.
His wife, Carolyn, sent this along: Just a quick note from the "Land of Enchantmant": It is chili harvesting time. We, along with other family members, roasted, bagged and froze four bushels of green chili.
We go to the fruit market and they roast the chili for us. Harland hauls it home, leaving it in the large plastic bags for two hours, and then we place it on a BIG table (see picture) and once the chili is cool, we bag it and get it ready for the freezer.
The chili we got this year is from Lemitar, New Mexico. It is absolutely wonderful. It is just so great to go to your freezer at any time throughout the year and pull out a bag of green chili, chop it and serve it on your favorite foods.
If you haven't experienced this wonderful green chili in New Mexico, you must come some fall and learn about the culture of our chili season!
Since Har turned 60, he has found himself a new maid............haha.........that is our nephews wife assisting Harland in bagging the green chili.
Also, a few weeks ago, Stan had on the "blog" about our grandson, Nolan's fundraiser. On September 30th there will be a fundraising walk for our grandson's eye disease in Boston. However, many people are unable to make it to Boston. Therefore, they are having a "spirit walk" here in Albqueruque on September 30. They will be raising money to help find the causes and a cure for Ocular Inflammatory diseases such as our grandson has.
If you would like to pledge money for Nolan to walk, please contact our daughter Sara at iceskating73@yahoo.com. Please make the check payable to Ocular Immunology and Uvetis Foundation. Nolan has already received one pledge from this blog site and hope that others will also support Nolan in this "spirit walk". Nolan is 9 and ready to make the trek for this very good cause. He is just wondering if his PaPa will be able to make the 3 mile walk, since PaPa turned 60!!! Ha Ha Thank you for your support in advance.
Sincerely, Carolyn
