Father of Kathy Josephs Faust passes
Milton E. Josephs, 90, died February 28, 2007 at Bethany Community in Alexandria, where he had been a resident since 2003. He was the father of our classmate, Kathy Josephs.
Milton was born March 20, 1916 to Joseph and Helen S. (Koski) Josephs in Brandon. He attended country school District #45, worked in the Douglas County area and married Agnes Sarvie on July 29, 1943 in California.
Milton then spent time overseas in the U.S. military, becoming a first lieutenant In World War II and also the Korean Conflict. Upon his return to the United States, Milton was self-employed as a contractor for more than 50 years. Country Club Heights was a development he was very proud of. Milton enjoyed his work with his family at various food stands at the county fairs throughout the area.
Milton’s hobbies were fishing, hunting, woodworking and gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Agnes of Alexandria; son, Ken (Penny) Josephs of New Hope; daughters, Kathy (John) Faust of Burnsville, Carol (Mike) Johnson of Rochester, and Sharon Blalock of Garland, Texas; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brother, Harold (Ruby) of Albuquerque, NM; sisters, Verna Allen of Laurel, MT, Hazel Cortez of California, Elsie (Jack) Hitchcock of California, Harriet Smith of California, Bernice (Dave) Nixon of Bayfield.
Milton was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clifford, Melvin, Lester and Elmer; and sisters, Sylvia and Mildred.
A funeral service was held at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria on March 5 with the Rev. John Peshek, officiating. Music was provided by Virginia Hegre as organist. Interment was at Finnish Apostolic Cemetery in Moe Township with the American Legion Post #87 of Alexandria providing military honors. Pallbearers were Cory Josephs, Ryan Josephs, Jason Josephs, Michael Faust, Aaron Johnson and Patrick Koll.
